Weekend Roll: CRCA Race Clinic and TBD Community Ride
It’s fair to say the past month hasn’t gone as expected, starting with getting a crash that means several months off the bike. But with the recent NYC heat wave finally breaking for a beautiful morning of bike racing in Central Park, I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to get out (on foot) to see the team and take a few photos (with my good hand)
Saturday also happened to be our second TBD Community Ride, so I started the morning walking the East Side of Central Park with Lisa, catching a bit of the race action including Elbert making the winning break in his field while Rod and Josh patrolled behind. I also caught up with Hannah and Scott who volunteered their morning to helping the excellent CRCA Race Clinc.
From there is was an easy stroll to the traditional Engineers Gate start of the Community Ride. It will be a few months before I’ll be able to join one of them on two wheels, but it was great meeting a few new folks and seeing the ride off after some words of guidance from Greg.
Stay tuned to the Journal for an update on our upcoming group rides, and check out a quick left handed photo gallery from a pretty terrific morning below.
