The TBD Newsletter: It's Finally Fall... I Think?
We are well into fall, but you might not think so given the record high temps and drought conditions we’ve been experiencing in the Northeast. Wildfires burning all across… New York City (?!), have us a bit bewildered.
But, while our cyclocross race courses have primarily been bumpy, loose, dusty, and sandy, there has been no shortage of laughs, excitement, and fun so far this unseasonably warm cross season. Welcome to our Fall 2024 newsletter where we look back at the silliness of this past season.
Really Rad Festival of CX
Diane brought us another really rad and comprehensive pairing of both weekend forecast and race recap of a perennial favorite on our NECX racing calendar: the Really Rad Festival of Cyclocross in Falmouth, Massachuseets. Be sure to check out both.

Back to the Sand at HPCX
James R collaborated with the rest of the squad to recap how the team had a hard-fought and hilarious time battling fellow racers and the infamous double sandpits that are the signature of local hitmaker, HPCX, put on by the good folks of the Rutgers Cycling Team.
A Spectacular Weekend Roll featuring UCI MTB
Daghan shared his incredible gallery of photos from the UCI MTB World Cup in Lake Placid, New York, set against a gorgeous backdrop of brightly changing foliage and giant stuffed bears.
Saying Farewell to a Beloved Team Mascot
And our seasonal roundup would not be complete without a loving shoutout and remembrance of one of the queens of TBD, a furry OG, our very own Winifred “Winnie” Winston Churchill Vandivort. We love and miss you dearly - a reminder to give your human and furry companions a big hug and some treats every day.
Good luck to everyone persevering through the second half of this cross season. Congrats to those who ran the NYC Marathon and to those who’ve otherwise put away those timing chips and are simply enjoying the rest of 2024 from outside the tape. Thank you for coming along with us on this journey, and here’s to many more miles, smiles, and good memories made with our bicycle friends.
