The Wedding X Cyclocross Race Crossover Episode

Before he relocated to Buffalo, Greg Addo was the maestro behind many of To Be Determined’s various video efforts including “What It’s Like To Race Cyclocross” and our 2016 Grant’s Tomb Criterium Video that brings back fond memories of what it was like to race Grant’s Tomb in short sleeves. Since moving to the opposite side of the state Greg has been staying busy and checking in with a few video projects, among them “Bike Racing in Buffalo”. His latest effort project, however, is a little different: combining his cycling documentary skills with his experience shooting weddings:

When my family and I relocated to Buffalo last Spring, what we were seeking, and found, was a better quality of life – We were wanted out of the hustle we had outgrown in NYC. What I was surprised to discover so quickly was a thriving cycling community and cyclocross scene (something that I was wary about giving up entirely in NYC). Ethan Johnson and Alex Davis own a bike shop Campus Wheelworks and separately a community non-profit: Campus Cycling Collective that has lead the way for a lot of races and cycling culture in general. The cyclocross event "Cross in the Park was started by Ethan and Alex ten years ago, and has since grown into a huge attraction that draws spectators and participants to the spectacular autumn setting at Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park. On top of its annual antics, this year Ethan added a mid-day activity for all racers and attendees to witness: his wedding to Bonnie Simms. "Cross in the Park" was host to a marriage that only two truly bike crazy people would throw, Ethan Johnson and Bonnie Simms. It was a thrill to witness and to document.
