TWTW: Every Race Happened
Another huge week for bikes is done and dusted. With the (insane) end to the Giro, cycling fans need to take a rest week. The weather in New York is maybe finally starting to consider feeling like Summer and I've been extremely happy seeing so many folks out on bikes. I've also been extremely happy to not be racing in full winter kit. Saturday, we even had an "it's too hot" kind of race day! This is progress.
THE WEEK THAT WAS (TWTW) FOR TO BE DETERMINED
The team had a major presence in all the races this week. Thursdays are a little more crowded now that Rockleigh series is back on. If you're riding from Brooklyn, it ends up being a 100 mile day with a crit in the middle. The course itself has a few tricky turns and a fast finishing straight. Perfect practice if you're trying to get in some good crit practice before Intelligentsia.
On Saturday, four of us made our way to the Bound Brook Crit and its new course. The 4/5 race had two big crashes, including one on the final corner before the sprint. By the time the 3/4 race rolled around, the weather could be described as "sweltering." Luckily everyone stayed up-right, and on the way out we grabbed a quick beer at the train station restaurant. I'd highly recommend getting this race on your calendar next year.
Last but not least, we sent a squad up to the Killington Stage Race. While there will be a larger write up posted on the journal, I did want to give a shoutout to Erwin for getting 10th in the GC due to absolutely smashing the TT.
