Photo Rhetoric: Fall Riding
With peak foliage rapidly approaching in New York City, we can pretty much guarantee that if you are a cyclist in the tri-state area your Instagram feed features a plethora of pictures from a little stretch of nearby road affectionately known as River Road (but actually named Henry Hudson Drive). It is pretty amazing to see how often this eight mile stretch of road features in the routine of any New York City cyclist, including our own. If you don't believe us, just check out #bikeriverroad on Instagram (HT to @angelocalilap for this creation). But for all of the daily - and these days hourly - updates that are posted from this little escape from New York City, few of them do justice to the feeling of riding out of New York City before dawn - at times dodging the occasional deer or red fox - and immersing yourself in darkness before experiencing the start of a new day with a sunrise on the bike. A few pics from recent mornings on the bike doing just that follow, though we certainly recommend experiencing it first hand while the leaves are aflame in yellow and orange.
